The main table includes all players who made their first appearance on Jeopardy! in 2020-21. Zach Newkirk, the winner of the final game of Season 36, did not defend in this season's opener due to ongoing travel concerns occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned to defend on January 28, 2021 and won two additional games; he is not counted in the tables below.
Beginning in Week 3, Jeopardy! revived the practice of allowing contestants to be introduced as "originally from" a location other than their current residence, which had been ended in 2016. At least for now, this table will not separate out based on the style of introduction; wherever a player is billed as being from, that's what ends up in the table.

(Credits: Zap2it & TitanTV for TV schedules for each market; John Coryat (yes, that's actually the last name) for ZIP code maps; ThinkTV for a listing of Canadian market sizes, enabling me to rank them properly with the U.S. markets; and Randy Majors for a Google Maps adaptation containing county lines.)
The tables below reflect updated market size estimates for 2020–21; those figures are larger for all markets on account of Nielsen updating its methodology to account for broadband-only (BBO) homes.
Updated through Week 24 of Season 37 (2021-02-26).
